Jackson County is home to over 160,000 good neighbors, family and friends. The vast 722 square miles that stretch across Mid-Michigan include 19 townships and seven villages - the largest community being the City of Jackson, which has recently been designated by the state as one of Michigan’s ‘Cool Cities.’ Jackson County stands at the crossroads of Michigan, where east meets west on I-94 and north meets south on US-127, making it an excellent venue to work or start a business.
Jackson County works hard, but plays just as hard. With over 500 holes of golf, several being nationally ranked, Jackson County has the most golf courses per capita than any county in the United States. There are also many wonderfully managed local and State parks, 188 lakes, an International Speedway, and a wide array of special festivals, events and celebrations throughout the whole year for everyone to enjoy. The area is rich in cultural history and has been one of the most thriving and vibrant of Michigan’s bustling commercial and industrial communities.
