Health Care
Jackson County is home to world class health care. Allegiance Health, is the County’s main hospital with over 3,500 full and part-time employees. The main number to reach Allegiance Health personnel and/or patients is 517-788-4800.
In 2008, Allegiance Health was responsible for 70 percent of new commercial construction in Jackson. In recent years it has built dozens of health-related businesses, including a $17 million heart center that opened in 2008. A $15 million medical center that focuses on the specialties of bones, muscles and nerves opened in June. The health system’s numerous awards for quality and patient satisfaction help its own marketing efforts, and also help the community market itself to new industries.
