Leading Jackson’s Economic Growth

The Enterprise Group of Jackson, Inc (EG) was established in 1997 to lead business recruitment and retention in Jackson County. The EG is a private/public partnership organized to promote and coordinate economic development initiatives and create wealth within Jackson County. The EG is comprised of Jackson’s leading business organizations.

Armory Arts Village
A bold, innovative community redevelopment project that uses arts, culture, creativity and innovation as a catalyst for reinventing the community of Jackson and the surrounding region. It features affordable live/work space, known as the Armory ArtsWalk Apartments, which are tailored to meet the needs of emerging artists, musicians, designers, craftsmen and other creative-types with the passion and commitment to become creative entrepreneurs.

Economic Development Division
Combines the services of Local Development Finance Authorities, Downtown Development Authorities, the Jackson County Economic Development Corporation and the Brownfield Redevelopment Authority of Jackson County. They structure deals, which may include tax breaks, major plant/equipment renovations, construction, and environmental assessments, and also provide site selection assistance.

Jackson Area Manufacturers Association
A non-profit organization of manufacturers and businesses that work together to develop/promote solutions that enhance the prosperity of the manufacturing industry in Jackson County.

Academy for Manufacturing Careers For those more apt to develop skilled trades, The Academy for Manufacturing Careers is a certified Registered Apprenticeship Program by the U.S. Department of Labor. The Academy is sponsored by and delivered through the Jackson Area Manufacturers Association in partnership with South Central Michigan Works!

Armory Arts Village
The Armory Arts Villageis a bold, innovative project born from the remnants of 19th century brick and mortar, the Armory Arts Village is only Phase I of a larger project designed to be a catalyst that reinvents the Jackson community, bringing a greater appreciation for arts, culture and creativity to the area. Phase II development is set to begin in the fall of 2011 and will feature additional apartments as well as a small plaza featuring a local café and gallery. Jackson Small Business & Technology Development Center
Provides assistance to entrepreneurs and existing business owners to help them prosper in the business world. Services include counseling, training, research and advocacy geared towards helping businesses grow and succeed.

Procurement Technical Assistance Center of South MI
Assists area businesses in acquiring federal and state government contracts. Also helps identify international markets for companies seeking to do business outside the U.S.
